We recommend a polyurethane finish on your wood floors because of its durability and ease of maintenance. It is important to realize that fresh polyurethane finish will not be smooth as glass. Although we do everything possible to insure the floor is dust free when the finish is applied, it is a slow drying process. Therefore, any dust which is in the air will settle in the finish prior to the time it becomes tact free (about 6 - 8 hours after application). These "gritty" areas in the polyurethane will smooth out after a few weeks of wear.
